These Are the Swimwear Trends That Are Going to Be Big This Summer

We’re here to stop you from that last-minute vacation wardrobe panic with our tips about the biggest summer trends of 2019, how to wear them and who they suit.
Animal Print

From sexy cut outs to bold summer prints we’ve got you covered, whether you’re soaking up the summer sun poolside, spending quality time with the family on the beach or sweating through festival season.

After seeing leopard, zebra and even cow print return to the runway, this bikini trend has proven animal print is seasonless. This summer, animal print is outperforming against any other swimwear content on Instagram by 108% with Isabeli Fontana and Tracee Ellis Ross as fans.  Depending on your confidence and commitment to the trend, you can wear a solid printed bikini or one-piece, or mix separates. The animal print trend covers so many areas from bold bright-colored zebra print to neutral leopard.

The Rachel Leopard is a combination between bralette, cut out and one-piece, perfect for those who can’t decide what type of suit they want. The nude color lets your figure do all the talking and attracts the eye too all the right places.

Neon hues have been championed by brands like Prada, Prabal Gurung and Brandon Maxwell throughout the seasons, but it’s not just reserved for ravers and school notepads. Neon and fluorescent tones are more flattering than you’d think, the super bright hue will give the illusion of a deeper tan. Kylie Jenner’s and daughter Stormi’s twinning in neon caused searches for the trend to go up 29%, and we love it as much as they do.

Bright and bold shades of green, yellow, orange and pink are the perfect way to get into the tropical summer mood. Bright bikinis are also super cute when worn with denim as part of a festival look as they work well day to night. This unique orange Nina long sleeve front-tied top bikini will look cute on vacation, in the club or at a festival.

You can’t move on Instagram for a gorgeous model, actress or influencer in a cut-out one-piece. We love how inventive designers are being with their cutouts this year, just remember to wear sunscreen to avoid those pesky tan lines.

It’s not just one-pieces that have the cut-out treatment, bikini tops and bottoms are now being cut into interesting and flattering shapes. Cutouts, when done well, will enhance the body’s natural curves.  Jennifer Lopez and Emily Ratajkowski are just two of the fans of the style.

This Rachel Neon bikini top and bottom mixes multiple trends for one bold statement swimsuit. The bralette has cut outs, the leg-lengthening high leg briefs are incredibly flattering and the bold color will turn heads and enhance tanned skin.

Stripes get a bad rep for being allegedly unflattering and fattening, but there are so many flattering designs on the market. Stripes are a fuss-free print, much more athletic than floral or animal print options and rarely go out of fashion. Buy a good quality striped bikini and it’ll never go out of style.

Stripes can be anything from cute candy hues to bold rainbows and classic nautical-inspired pieces. Hailey Baldwin, Gigi Hadid and Hilary Duff are all fans of the stripy bikini, flattering and cute without being too in your face.

Choose diagonal stripes like the Nelly Striped Top with its universally flattering color blocked palette of blue, red and white. Plus, the triangle top offers stability and support even for larger busted ladies.
